How I Accidentally Spent an Entire Sunday

+

I recorded this show when it aired earlier this spring and never got around to watching it. I woke up bright & early this morning and wanted something to look at so I turned on Off the Map...and never turned it off.

How could I with him as one of the main characters?

I'm debating starting a Friday Night Lights Final Season party, but I think I've had enough TV for the weekend.

At least I washed my sheets and cleaned my bathroom before the marathon started!

Sunday Night Sobfest

Do ya'll watch Army Wives? It's not often I talk about how much I love a TV show, but Army Wives has me HOOKED. I don't remember when I first started watching it... I guess maybe last summer? There may or may not have been an incident in which I dated a man who was in the army and made him watch episode after episode with me and analyze what was real and what was exaggerated for TV. He really loved that, as evidenced by the fact that we are no longer dating. I didn't really love the fact that he was in the military either - after watching this show, can you blame me?

But I am seriously addicted. And this week's episode? I may have sobbed through the entire thing.

It doesn't help anything that after Army Wives comes this new show called Coming Home, all about deployed soldiers that make surprise returns home to their little kids, or to their son who has had a rockstar senior year of high school playing football, but his dad had to miss it. As he is about to announce where he is going to play college football (Navy), his dad walks in and says, "That's my boy!" His signature words. Killed me.

Thank you, Lifetime, for ensuring that I cry out all my tears on Sunday evening, and also that I don't go to sleep until 11pm.

FNL: Friday Night Lights :(

Newsflash: My favorite television show of all time, ever, is over.

I may have discovered this show one day while incredibly hungover and proceeded to watch 12 episodes in 12 hours, but that does not negate the importance or value of this classic American television show. And it really doesn't negate the gorgeous actors that play Coach Taylor, Matt Saracen, and Tim Riggins.

Yes, my beloved Friday Night Lights. Anyone remember this post? In case you don't, this was the highlight:

I find myself squealing whenever I see a character from Friday Night Lights on another show (like Matty Saracen on that new doctor show... I forget what's called), and like Coach Taylor on Grey's Anatomy. Then I proceed to tweet about Friday Night Lights taking over the world. Rational is exactly how I describe myself when asked, don't worry.

I have never been one to obsess over or crush on TV or movie or really any kind of celebrities. But Tim Riggins, a completely fictional character, makes my heart skip a beat. Claire said it far more eloquently than I ever will: I'm not kidding when I say that I'd jump at the chance to marry Taylor Kitsch, having never met him, based solely on his portrayal of Tim Riggins. Wouldn't think twice.

If you didn't just crumble inside, then you have no heart. What I love about this (fictional) man: his drawl, his wild side, how he loved Lila without abandon, his dedication to friendship, the way he called Matt "Seven," his cowboy boots, his truck, and his shaggy hair and scruffy face.

Do you have a celebrity crush as clearly out of control as me?

Best TV Show EVER

Some people know this about me, some don't. If you follow me on Twitter then you probably know how in love I am with this show. Only the first & second season. It started being aired again on ABC Family, and I obviously recorded it even though I've already watched seasons 1-4 (in like 3 days, but that was a different time in my life. I've moved on from that lifestyle. Kinda.) Well, the episodes on ABC Family weren't coming fast enough, so I've parked myself in my bed in front of my computer and am watching Netflix Instant Streaming of Season 1. And probably as much of Season 2 as I can get to before I have to go do whatever it is I'm supposed to do on a Saturday night. If you have't watched Friday Night Lights yet... get to it.

Ps: For the ladies, Tim Riggins vs. Matt Saracen. I'm a Timmy Riggins girl ALL DAY LONG. Obvs we're the perfect couple.
(And obvs I need a new job where I have more to do than Photoshop myself into pictures with celebrities. Don't judge. Well, go ahead and judge, because I would.)

I'm going back to watching fake football, because apparently the real football I'm watching is SUCKING. Ugh.
